Bible Foundations Radio
You can know God. Who is He? What is He like? What does He require of us? What does He have planned for your eternal future?
God wrote a book. The foundation of a faith that pleases Him is rooted in the identity of Jesus Christ, and understanding that identity begins in the very first book of the Bible, Genesis.
Bible Foundations Radio is an archive of a radio broadcast that began airing in 1996. Jerry Smyth taught an overview of the Bible using Chronological Bible Teaching, the method behind the “Firm Foundations” Sunday School curriculum. Starting in Genesis, each lesson builds on the one before it, laying a foundation for clearly understanding the core of God’s message.
Phase 1, Creation to Christ, runs 71 audio lessons, from the introduction, through Creation, the Fall, the patriarchs, the judges and kings and prophets, to the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ. Because the lessons build on each other, listening out of sequence can leave gaps in understanding God’s progressive revelation of Himself. This isn’t an exhaustive Bible study, it pulls together the Bible’s major themes to reveal its key concepts, taught in the King James Version.
A few of the early lessons: Introduction to the Bible, God Alone, Angels, God Created, God Created Man, Adam in Eden, God Made Eve, Adam and Eve Disobeyed God. The series continues through Israel in the Promised Land, Judges and Kings, God’s Promise Fulfilled in Jesus, Jesus Tempted and Resisted, and closes with the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ.
