A Bible education is the best education a person can get. It prepares a person for living life according to God’s design, for growing to be a better person, for right thinking in regard to relationships, for living intentionally to benefit other people, and for investing resources toward laying up treasure in heaven. Most importantly, a Bible education helps a person think correctly about God’s character, our condition, our position in Christ, values for living on earth, and investing life toward things that really matter. Our natural inclination is to think we already know what we need to know — until someone shows us a little bit of what we don’t.
As I was finishing high school, a missionary friend took me aside and encouraged me to attend Ethnos360 Bible Institute first, before anything else. I heard him, but I chose to go to college first in my pursuit of training as a missionary bush pilot. I found myself ill-equipped to minister to the needs of people in my own dorm — even though I was attending a Christian university and had heard God’s word multiple times a week for most of my life.
My friend was right. I should have gone to Bible Institute first.
After college, I did attend Ethnos360 Bible Institute. The things I learned have affected every aspect of my life and ministry every day in the decades since. How EBI works
Read the Bible like you would read any story: start on the first page and go from there. At Ethnos360 Bible Institute you study the Bible chronologically, beginning with Genesis and continuing through Revelation — every book, in two years — taught by missionary staff who raise their own support. You dig deep into the whole Bible, learn to study it for yourself, and uncover the character of God and the major doctrines as His story unfolds. The distinctives: a heavy emphasis on missions, discipleship, grace and Christian-life principles, foundational teaching, and strong hermeneutics. The purpose is “to establish believers in the foundational truths of the Bible with an emphasis on church planting among people groups without the gospel” — and decades of history show EBI has been powerful in mobilization as well as training. EBI is accredited by TRACS.
The entire program is also available online at your own pace — take a single class, earn a one-year certificate, or complete the full 64-credit program in two years with three trimesters per year, designed for people already in the workforce.
