Before a church can send missionaries, the congregation needs to understand what missions is and why it matters. Helpful starting points:

Foundational Bible teaching

Effective missions education starts with a congregation that knows the whole story of Scripture, not isolated verses. Discipleship

Intentional discipleship prepares people to be sent, or to send others well. That means normalizing spiritual growth as a process with a clear path, not a vague expectation. For more about discipleship, see the Establish Series.

Equipping

Practical training — including Bible institute coursework, available both on campus and online — helps prepare people who feel drawn toward career missions, while giving churches tools to train senders and supporters too.

Sending

Churches that have sent missionaries well are usually the best teachers of how to do it. Look for testimonies from sending churches, and consider connecting with an experienced representative who can walk your missions committee through strategic planning.
